Ellie Mae

Ellie Mae is one of three puppies surrendered to a vet partner in South Texas. She is supposed to be a Border Collie/ Heeler mix. Her and her sisters are great little puppies. They play with toys and chase each other around until they wear themselves out and then take a nap, just to start all over again. Phoebe is the most energetic and maybe has the most border collie in her. Millie is medium energy, and Ellie is the calmest. They are good about using pee pads while their foster is at work to pee and waiting to do their other business until they are let outside. They all love the water, enjoying splashing in a kiddie pool and are definitely into tug of war with each other and long stuffed toys.

Ellie Mae is available for adoption now, though we will want to make sure that any adopter is ready to raise a new puppy and all the challenges and fun that comes along with a pup. She has not been spayed, so her adoptive family will be responsible for spaying hem and providing BCSAVE with documentation of the spay prior to her turning a year. She has also not been tested for heartworms, as heartworms are not detectable until at least 6-7 months of age. She has been on preventative since she could be, but BCSAVE recommends her adoptive family test her for heartworms at 7 months and again 6 months later just to be sure.
