Whimsy

Whimsy is a heartworm positive, approximately 3 year old 36 lb. neutered male. He was owner surrendered in Louisiana because he and another dog chased and tried to kill a cat. So far, Whimsy has been nothing but sweet while in foster care. He LOVES to snuggle and gives the best hugs. He is also extremely dog and people friendly, but nervous around kids up to pre-teen age. He also loves to run and herd, but has great recall and will call off very easily. He may have been subject to some heavy-handedness, as he can get a little timid.

He is also heartworm positive and currently going through fast kill treatment, which should be complete by November. He can be adopted prior to then, but will need to be able to continue with his treatment in his new home.

Whimsy’s best home would be one where he can focus his love and attention on his person or persons, as long as they are around middle school age and up. He likes other dogs, but another dog is not required for him to play with as long as he can spend his time with his person. He doesn’t have much toy drive but does love his treats. He would need a moderately active home with walks and play time in the backyard so that he can stay fit and a family that appreciates his snaggletooth grin and Whimsy hugs!
