FOSTER INFORMATION

Please carefully read the following policies and statements before continuing to the Foster Application.

FOSTER PROCESS

  1. Initial Phone Screening:   An initial “get to know you” phone call with a BCSAVE volunteer to go over the application, get more details about what the applicant is looking for, answer any questions the applicant has regarding fostering for BCSAVE.
  2. Home Check:   After the application and phone interview, we will request a virtual home visit to help ensure our Border Collies are going to a suitable home for their particular needs.
  3. Find Your Foster:   It is our goal to find appropriate homes for our dogs and we will begin discussing specific dogs.
  4. Make Arrangements:   We will work with you to get the dog to you to being fostering and arrange transport as necessary.

Foster are asked to provide the food for the foster dog, but all other expenses, including vaccinations and heartworm prevention, will generally be paid for by BCSAVE.
