Simon is an approximately 1 year old, BC mix. Pulled from a shelter in West Texas in April 2020, Simon was extremely fearful and leash reactive. He spent the first several days in rescue with his head in a corner. He was never aggressive but would run and cower in a corner if pressed. Since April, he has come leaps and bounds at his foster’s home. He will let himself be pet and scratched, and has shown some ball and toy interest. He likes other dogs, and is starting to play more and more. He is very food motivated and likes his crate. We are still working back up to the leash.
Simon will benefit from a dog owner experienced with fearful dogs. While Simon has improved immensely, he still has times when he gets anxious and scared. He needs a gentle hand who can continue working with him to build trust. He has been around pre-teens and showed no issues, so we think he would be fine in a home with older kids.
