Spark

Spark, Fozzy, Gracey and Ringer were saved by a rescue angel in OK after they were dumped at a church and lived outside for several months.

Spark is a fantastic, fun pup who is really just looking for HIS person! He is a one person dog who bonds with his person and is absolutely devoted to them. He does seem to prefer women, but would likely need time to really develop a bond with a male in the home. He is amazing on leash and loves quiet hikes with his foster mom and pup-friends. His fave past-time? Playing with his ball on the stairs! When left alone at home, he’ll drop his ball down the stairs, go get it, and take it to the top of the stairs to drop it again – he can do this for hours! LOL

He still gets spooked in new situations or around a lot of people, but we really think he just needs more experience and exposure. He loves to cuddle and snuggle and would be great in an apartment. Spark will need a patient adopter who will allow Spark the time to get comfortable in a new situation, but once he does, you will have a best friend for life.

The pros:

• He is great with dogs of all sizes
• He used to be the shyest of the group but has been warming up super fast and becoming more confident
• No resource guarding (food or toy)
• Settles very well in the house and will just sleep
• He is treat motivated
• He is a quiet and laid back dog
• He has a German Shepherd foster buddy right now who’s energy and body language can be a bit much to start with dogs, but Spark has done amazing with her!
• We think he has confinement anxiety – doesn’t like to be crted or locked in a room but does fine free in the house when you leave.
• He can get over a 4 ft fence, so a 6 ft fence is required
• He can still be very puppy-like, shredding things he shouldn’t.
