Fia was found by a rescue supporter and turned her into the shelter. At the shelter, Fia was scared and anxious and did not respond well to being collared, so she was labeled “aggressive” and “vicious”, and all indications were that she would have been PTS (put to sleep). Another BCSAVE volunteer assessed Fia and found her neither of these things and notified us that we needed to rescue this sweet pup immediately! We ran to the shelter, got this pup into our rescue, brought her to our staging foster, and quickly discovered that this pup is a lovable, snuggly, playful girl.
About 1-2 years old and 34 lbs, she was a little reactive towards men but worked with her foster to overcome this. She continues to improve and may take a little more time than some pups to acclimate, but once she does, she’s the sweetest, most lovable girl. She’s very smart and treat-motivated, and learns very quickly.
