Wimbley is a 3 year old purebred BC who was finally owner surrendered to the shelter after being a “frequent flyer”. During his most recent stay, he was diagnosed with a heavy load of heartworms, which if not treated, is guaranteed to result in death. BCSAVE couldn’t let that happen and brought him into our rescue for treatment and eventual adoption into a FURever home. He was also shaved due to the extreme amount of matting in his coat.
BCSAVE follows the American Heartworm Society (AHS) “fast kill” protocol, which means Wimbley will be on several medications and severe activity restriction for a minimum of 120 days. While he is listed as “Coming Soon”, interested adopters can submit an application today and if approved to adopt Wimbley, will have to sign a Heartworm Addendum, confirming that they continue with his treatment.
