Astro was a purebred male Border Collie who was owner surrendered with his sister, Dixie Rose, because their original owners had too many puppies and were getting out of the breeding business. Neither puppy was very well socialized and were fostered together in the Houston area while they learned about good puppy manners and being a well-adjusted Border Collie. Both puppies generated a lot of adoption interest, as we have not historically gotten a lot of puppies and they were both so stinkin’ cute!

One of the “perks” of being a foster for BCSAVE is getting first “dibs” on adopting a foster pup. In this case, Astro’s foster mom decided that while Dixie Rose could get adopted, she couldn’t imagine letting Astro, her little shadow, go to another home. So – she decided to foster fail (or should we say foster succeed?!?) Astro!
