Bea

Bea is a 42 lb, BC mix girl who came to us via our Louisiana rescue partner. She is a sweet girl who loves her human and her ball. A stray, Bea can be a teeny little bit resource guardy of her human and her food but can easily be corrected. She is a loving girl who wants to snuggle as much as she can whenever she is not playing fetch. She is a little chunky and could stand to lose a couple of pounds, which should happen quick since she loves to run in the yard. Unfortunately, Bea is also heartworm positive and will begin her treatment April 5, after she recuperates from her recent spay surgery. Bea is also a little nervous when her collar is grabbed, and showed the vet her teeth when she went in for her check up. We think this will improve with practice as all Bea wants to do is please you.

Right now, she seems to be a medium level energy girl who will run and play and catch and fetch with you, but can definitely come inside and relax when asked. She seems house-trained, does decent on leash and will start practicing with her crate very soon. She can be fostered to adopt through the heartworm treatment (which is covered by BCSAVE) or adopted with a heartworm treatment contract (if treatment is completed through another vet who is not a current low cost partner, BCSAVE will only pay for a portion of the cost).
