🐾 Benny is one of FOURTEEN dogs pulled from a hoarding case in Mississippi, where they all lived in an apartment together and after discovery, were subsequently surrendered to different shelters in MS. All fourteen dogs were severely underweight, probably in-bred, had urine-stained fur, and soft paws from never having been outside. Luckily, none of them were heartworm positive. Many were very timid upon rescue and NONE of them were house-trained, but all have shown themselves to be very sweet and loving dogs and good with other pups. Six went to our rescue friends at Border Collie Rescue and Rehab, while eight stayed with BCSAVE.

Benny (~1yr, 28 lbs) is by far the smallest of the bunch, but what he lacks in stature, he makes up for in personality! He may look like a fancy boy with his wide eyes and curled over tail, but this midget can mix it up with the best of them!

✅High-energy and loves toys but lacks focus
✅Great with other dogs
✅Will snuggle when not playing with other dogs
✅Naturally nosy
✅Likes to talk (grumble, mumble, bark)
✅Not afraid of anything (except nervous around new people)
❌Does NOT like the crate

Benny is a lotta dog in a little package! He is a fun pup but needs to be engaged, because he can get hyper-focused on another dog and spend lots of time just barking and picking on the other pup (though he never goes further than that). He is house-trained and will walk hesitantly on a leash, but does NOT like a crate. He likes water and LOVES puddles and mud 😂. He has not been cat or kid tested, though he’d probably chase cats (LOTS) and run from kids so we’d recommend a cat/young child free home.

Benny needs a family who is active, fine with talky pups, and at least one or two friends close to his size he can play with – he 👉NEEDS👈 a friend (not good as a solo pup), as he LIVES to play with other dogs (like Rip – adopt the both!). Toys and soft beds are required, as are a little patience and maybe a good set of noise-cancelling headphones. 😆
