Bradley

Bradley was originally a guest of the Vermillion Parish Animal Control in Louisiana in early 2020, and was transferred to a rescue in the New Jersey area, where he was adopted to a family. It was not a good match, as Bradley had two incidents where he got overly excited and mouthy, breaking skin. Because of his behavior, he was returned to a private rescuer in Louisiana, who then transferred him to BCSAVE.

Bradley is an active pup who loves his people more than anything. He does have some typical Border Collie traits (herding, excitability) that he needs to learn to control, and that can present as pushiness. He also enjoys playing soccer and tug of war. Cars and birds are his enemy, as he likes to chase them from a distance and along fence lines. Bradley is also very smart and already knows a handful of commands, such as sit, sit pretty, lay down, and roll over. He can get very excited and want to circle or play or tug, and his foster family has been working with him on restraint when he gets amped up. Bradley can also be a little needy when he wants attention, including getting in front of other dogs who happens to be in the way. Bradley does love to walk and run with his person, and would be great as an only dog, though he gets along with other dogs who are more passive towards him. He was heartworm positive when he was originally brought into rescue in early 2020, and has gone through the fast kill treatment and will be getting retested in early 2021. Because of his excitability and his history of getting mouthy, Bradley would be best adopted to a family with no young children and an owner who can redirect him when he gets overly stimulated. Otherwise, Bradley is a sweet pup who wants nothing more than to sit at your feet or by you on the couch and get pet.
