Carter

Carter is about 45 lbs and 1-2 years old. He was a stray in the Belton Texas area and joined us after a short stint at the Bell County Animal Shelter. Carter is a very active pup who loves to run and play and run some more. He is very sweet and good natured and personable, not timid or scared of new people or experiences. He is house trained and working on both leash and crate training. He doesn’t like to be crated though he dislikes being locked in a room even more and needs the crate to prevent him from getting destructive. Carter is also very talkative when he doesn’t get what he wants. He has not shown any ball or toy drive yet, preferring to chase and run more than anything. Carter will do best in a house with another dog and room to run in a back yard with a high fence. Carter has two white lines of hair on either side of his rear haunches. We are not sure what this is from, but it could be from some sort of rope or strap tied to him in the past which cause hair loss and white hair to grow back.

Unfortunately, Carter is also heartworm positive and will begin his fast kill treatment mid-October. He can be adopted now with a Heartworm contract, which will require his adopter to complete his heartworm treatment (courtesy of BCSAVE).
