Cassie

Cassie is a 2 year old, 53 lb BC mix female who was surrendered to the Fort Worth shelter. A tad underweight, she was initially a little dog reactive. Since coming in to rescue and moving to foster care, she is doing much better and gaining weight, even sometimes stealing food from foster brother when she has the chance.

In general, she is a very sweet and affectionate girl.  She gets along well with kids and does well with other dogs. Cassie is leash trained and is a pleasure to walk.  She takes well to being crated, but would prefer to be out with her humans.  Cassie does not hop onto furniture, but she will jump into a pool.  She loves to give hugs, and is affectionate with people she meets for the first time.

We would not call her an escape artist, but she managed to sneak out of the gate once only to wait on the other side for her foster mom to open it up to her, so she understands where her bread is buttered.  She does love car rides, and will make a beeline to the car whenever she can.

Cassie’s only real downside is that she is obsessed with tracking and herding the cat.  She paces around areas where the cat tends to hide, but she hasn’t been aggressive enough to do any harm, so may do well with a cat confident enough to stand his/ her ground. Cassie is mostly potty trained and has had a few accidents, but getting better.

Cassie would do great in a family home with kids and another pup-friend to play with.
