Coal

Coal is one of four Border Collie/ Aussie mixes rescued from the shelter. Nine dogs in total were surrendered from the same owner, and BCSAVE took four (while two other rescues took the rest). All of the dogs were very shy and timid at the shelter, but warmed up once in foster homes.

Coal is the most outgoing and social of the four though he can be shy when he first meets you. But once he’s gotten used to you, he LOVES people and will wiggle his butt all day to get pet. He is also very playful, and romps with all the other pups in his foster home. Like Coolie, he has a tad bit of resource guarding of his food but is getting much better every day. He has a half tail, and a full, fluffy coat. He loves to play with toys and is a medium-high active dog who can run and play but then come inside and relax. He likes splashing in the pond with the other dogs, and of the four, seems the least interested in chasing livestock. He is also learning to walk on a leash, and is almost completely house-trained.
