Cowboy (ABCR)

🐾Cowboy is a 52 lb., 4 year old purebred border collie. As handsome as he is, Cowboy actually comes from a working line and was most likely never domesticated or exposed to many people before he was rescued. At first, Cowboy struggled to trust people and he was nervous in new environments, leading to some reactive tendencies. After decompressing and learning about the good life in a foster home for the past 10 weeks, Cowboy is a totally different dog! Although it may still take him some time to build trust, he’s one of the goofiest, most playful, and loving dogs around once he’s comfortable. He’s extremely loyal and has a strong urge to please his person. He’s very easy to train and will be your shadow, staying by your side throughout the day.

Cowboy has very strong herding instincts and would do best in a home with no children or cats. He needs an experienced owner who’s familiar with the breed and can keep his instincts in check when need be. Lots of physical and mental stimulation is required. He LOVES other dogs and is extremely playful with a slightly rough play style. His ideal home would have another younger playful dog that can keep up with him and help him get his energy out. This beautiful boy had a rough start to life, but he’s more than ready to find his forever home if you’re looking for a best friend and sidekick.
