Dixie’s story is one of luck. BCSAVE originally saw Dixie at the Weatherford shelter and was going to pull her into rescue when she was adopted out. Two weeks later, BCSAVE took another pup to the vet and recognized Dixie standing next to us. We introduced ourselves to Dixie’s new mom, who had adopted Dixie and another pup into her personal rescue. We offered to take Dixie into our rescue if her adopter would continue to foster her, and she did a fabulous job with Dixie, training her and teaching her commands. Dixie was adopted and returned through no fault of her own, and the day she was returned, she attended an event in Dallas, TX. At this event, BCSAVE met a wonderful couple who had recently moved to TX and had been looking for the perfect pup to share their new home with for the past few months. Enter Dixie, who was just finishing taking a walk, and it was love at first site! What a lucky dog!
