Gumbo

Gumbo is a sweet and handsome puppy, possibly a BC/shepherd mix. He is hard to resist when he lays his head on your lap and stares lovingly at you with his beautiful hazel eyes. He loves to play with other dogs and is obsessed with any toy that squeaks. Gumbo is a skilled varmint chaser, so squirrels and skittish cats beware. He is smart and beginning to learn manners and appropriate behaviors, like not peeing on his foster mom’s rug. He rides extremely well in a car without any anxiety, and he has no reaction to loud noises like thunder or ninja blenders. Gumbo is one cool cucumber! He does not like his crate, preferring to be as close as possible to his foster family instead. He will go in his crate if you bribe him with a treat and he sleeps there at night. He is getting better at walking on a leash every day, but right now he thinks he is competing in the Iditarod Sled Dog Race! He will play fetch with squeaky toys, but also appears curious about disc. He is an effervescent and mouthy puppy with a little bit of resource guarding, which has already greatly improved with just a few days of work. Gumbo is super smart and improves with each passing day, but he is a mouthy and bouncy puppy, so a home without small children would probably be best.
