🐾Hendrix (4 yrs old, 39 lbs) was a stray that we rescued from the shelter. He is:
Super sweet
House & leash trained (will crate but needs encouragement)
Likes balls (will self-amuse if you won’t play with him)
Likes running with other dogs
People and pup friendly
Hendrix likes to be near his person. He gets very nervous about being grabbed around by the collar – we think a man was probably very heavy-handed with him. He is fine with males but definitely is more at ease with women. He has not been kid or cat tested but he’s got such a sweet disposition, we think kids would be fine (especially older ones). He has not shown very much herdiness or prey drive, but we would recommend slow introductions to any felines. He’s also active but not crazy, so would likely do well in a household where he gets lots of walks/ runs/ play time and then can relax inside with a bone or ball.
He will need to be on strict activity restriction for a minimum of 60 days beginning mid-October or so, when he gets his first set of shots. Otherwise, he’s an easy-going, fun, sweet, slightly goofy pup who will make a great first Border Collie boy for the right family!
