Kira is a 4 year old BC/Heeler mix who was rescued from euthanasia with her puppy, Piper. She has just recently finished weaning four puppies, and three were adopted but Kira and Piper were not, so BCSAVE stepped in and pulled them into the rescue. A shyer pup, Kira is a very mellow dog, preferring to hang back when the others go barreling ahead. Her foster called her the “Zen of Border Collies” because of her calm and gentle demeanor. Her new mom, who had previously adopted from our sister rescue All Border Collie Rescue, reached out to BCSAVE to find the perfect pup-companion for her current BC who was not as active or agile as before. Kira had a weekend visit her new family decided to make it a permanent stay.
