Maggie

Age: 10 yr old
Sex: Female
Coat: Black and white semi-rough coat
Weight: 24 lbs

Maggie was a senior BC girl we pulled when the shelter contacted one of our fosters and told her about a pup that needed to be rescued because she was not likely to survive in a shelter environment. She was too thin and too old, so we worked quickly to get Maggie to a safe place, even though we knew very little about her. After getting Maggie to her foster, she started to have some physical issues. We expected that at her age, she might have some medical concerns and after going to the vet, we found out Maggie has a large tumor in her bladder that was likely cancerous. Because of her age and her health, there is not much we can do besides keep her comfortable.

Maggie remained in hospice care and Maggie’s foster gave Maggie the best possible life that she could have during the short time she has left. We made sure she was loved on and cared for and comforted. When it became too difficult for Maggie to continue, we cradled her as she left us and crossed the rainbow bridge. She will be treasured and remembered.
