Mickey

Mickey was a hard luck case out of the Weatherford shelter in late 2019. Severely underweight with extreme hair loss, it turned out Mickey had massively damaged teeth, and infection in his jaw, and two major abscesses in his gums. As a result, Mickey had to have significant dental surgery, including having over 20 teeth removed. The vet was amazed that Mickey was actually still alive considering the amount of bacteria and infection in his gums!
Mickey was a sweet but slightly salty boy who became a fan favorite. Mickey was foster failed after his foster dad decided he was going to make sure Mickey had the best life ever. He helped Mickey gain weight, grow out his hair, and even got him playing a little ball. Mickey never wanted for anything and was so spoiled that his dad even built him an outdoor bed and cover so he could hang out on the back porch when he didn’t want to come in (which was often as Mickey liked to stay outside in even the worst weather lol).
Mickey declined pretty rapidly his last few days, and after reaching out to us and consultation with the vet, his dad decided to let Mickey go.
