Spark, Fozzy, Gracey and Ringer were saved by a rescue angel in OK after they were dumped at a church and lived outside for several months. They are currently being boarded until they can move to a long term foster or get adopted. They are all about 7-8 months old and around 40 lbs.
We are still learning about these pups but so here’s what we know about Spark so far:
The pros:
- He is great with dogs of all sizes
- He used to be the shyest of the group but has been warming up super fast and becoming more confident
- No resource guarding (food or toy)
- Settles very well in the house and will just sleep
- He is treat motivated
- He is a quiet and laid back dog
- He has a German Shepherd foster buddy right now who’s energy and body language can be a bit much to start with dogs, but Spark has done amazing with her!
- He is getting so much better at walking on leash
The cons
- He does not like being crated at all. He will bark and make a yelling noise in the crate. He escapes all crates except for the Ruffland.
- He can’t have bedding, blankets, or a frozen enrichment toy in his crate otherwise he will rip them up. He slept out of his crate and he ended up ripping his dog bed. Other than that, he has not been destructive. His foster had to leave for a few hours to transport a couple dogs and left him out in the house. He didn’t tear anything up and was sleeping and calm when she got back.
