Sundance

Sundance was one of several pups rescued from a bad living situation in East Texas in mid-2020. All the pups rescued (Sundance, Butch, Mercedes, George, Martha, Sloane, and Doc) were essentially unsocialized and feral when they were trapped and over several trips, brought to BCSAVE. Their previous owner left the pups to live outside, without any medical care or regular feeding, and often breeding and then being lost to wild animals.

Sundance seemed to be about 2 years old and about 36 lbs.  He was heartworm positive but because of his lack of socialization, was treated using the slow kill route (monthly heartworm medication and monitoring). He was not leash trained or crate trained, and had been a fear biter in the past. He had come a long way from his initial behavior. He finally would come up and take treats out of his foster mom’s hand, and had started to play with and take comfort from other pups. Unfortunately, he crossed the rainbow bridge before he could ever find a FURever home.
