Sweetie Pie is 29 lbs and likely just over a year old. Found as a stray, she was at risk of being put to sleep because she was showing stressed behavior in the shelter and wasn’t adoptable at the time. Since being rescued, she has definitely come out of her shell and is living up to her name! In addition to being super-sweet, Sweetie is also very puppy-like and has lots of puppy behaviors still.

She has adjusted to her foster parents and her foster fur-sister very well. At first, she was a bit of a bolter, but since settling in, does not try to run away any more. She loves to play with her foster sister, Molly and learns from her play style. One of her favorite things is to herd Molly as Molly chases the ball. She is very hand-fixated and will grab your hand if she wants you to do something. She is also as bouncy as can be and she can jump over anything, such as leaping over the entire sofa without any effort. She will jump all the doggie gates to go follow her foster upstairs.

Sweetie has done great on a leash and while initially apprehensive when folks, she is getting better at introductions. She is super fast, learns very quickly, and is super-bouncy so will need an active home. She loves cuddles and belly rubs and car rides.

She’s house-trained and crate-trained. She does have a little separation anxiety, so needs to be crated when alone. And she is a super power chewer and can destroy a Kong in minutes, so needs good toys to keep her occupied.

All in all, Sweetie is a great little happy pup who needs an experienced Border Collie family who can manage her puppy-like behaviors and redirect them into something positive. She will need an active home and lifestyle, and may even be a great casual agility or herding pup.
