Trip

ADOPTED!

Age: 2.5 Year
Sex: Male (Neutered)
Coat: Brindle Rough Coat
Weight: 41 lbs

Trip was a 2.5 year old BC/ Aussie mix who was owner surrendered to the shelter. Trip had a tough life before coming into rescue, having been through an FHO surgery and subsequent medical care for being hit by a car. For several months, he had been living with a left rear leg that was completely atrophied. BCSAVE pulled him from the Weatherford Shelter after he was surrendered by an owner that no longer wanted him because we saw the spark in his eye and his will to live a full life. His leg was removed in late October 2019, and he healed up beautifully. Because he had lived without the use of his leg for so long, he recovered without much need for any additional therapy.

His parents had actually submitted an application after meeting another BCSAVE dog, but after talking with them, determined that the dog they were initially looking at was going to be higher energy than they needed. They met Trip and did a trial foster period to make sure that Trip would have no issues with their three story home. Trip proved that even with three legs, he was just as fast and agile as any four legged dog and after also showing them how lovable and adorable he was, they adopted him – just in time to have a FURever home for the HOWL-i-day!
