Wimbley was a 3 year old purebred BC who was finally owner surrendered to the shelter after being a “frequent flyer”. During his last stay, he was diagnosed with a heavy load of heartworms, which if not treated, would have guaranteed death. BCSAVE couldn’t let that happen and brought him into our rescue for treatment. He was shaved due to the extreme amount of matting in his coat and immediately began fast kill heartworm treatment and we began to look for a foster. Fast forward to Wimbley’s eventual parents. They were looking for a pup to become the best friend for their existing Border Collie, Finley, who was a high energy boy looking for someone to play with. They agreed to foster Wimbley while he was going through heartworm treatment to see how Finley would adjust to having another dog in the household. Before long, they realized that Wimbley and Finley were new BFFs, and decided to adopt Wimbley once he completed his heartworm treatment. Now finished with his heartworm treatment, Wimbley (new name = Fitz) now has a new fur coat, a new brother, and new mom and dad!
