Zander is such a good boy and open to love and direction. He is very attentive to what you are asking of him and eager to please. He already knows how to sit and is making good progress on “crate”, “down” and “come.” He has been responding well to clicker training. He will jump onto the couch or bed and lay next to you. He will do almost anything for a chicken flavored treat! He has been excellent at housetraining, he hasn’t had an accident inside since the 2nd day he came to us. He does get frequent access to outside though. At times he does show a little nervousness at coming through doorways so gentle coaxing may be needed at first. He is crate trained and will go in willingly for a treat and often goes in to rest. He sleeps through the night in his crate. Sometimes he will bark/howl when first left in but will settle down after 5-10 minutes.
He loves his brother Tobie and also really enjoys being with the 2 other dogs in the home and running and playing in the yard with them. He has started to learn to fetch with a ball. Zander is a great dog who is only going to flourish all the more in a loving family!
Loves: Chicken Treats, head scratches, belly rubs, stuffed toys (especially the crinkle skins), balls, running in the yard, puzzle boxes with treats inside, sleeping on the couch with you
Quirks/Behaviors that need training and time: Counter surfing, barking at his reflection in the stove/mirror, barks at first when left in crate
