Zora

ADOPTED!

Age: 2 Years
Sex: Female (Spayed)
Coat: B&W Rough Coat
Weight: 60 lbs

Zora was a two year old female who was owner surrendered from San Antonio due to a biting incident. BCSAVE evaluated Zora and felt that the bite was due to resource guarding and environment, and that she could be successfully placed into a new home. A very ball-obsessed pup, Zora was a challenging foster because of her tendency to guard her toys. She was placed once in a household that was not the right one, and got into a scrape with the dog of the house, so she was returned to foster care. Zora was also overweight but even with her personality quirks, BCSAVE felt that Zora was an extremely sweet and loving pup who just needed the right structure and guidance. BCSAVE took some video of Zora and her ball drive, and she was chosen to get fostered and trained by Bob Deeds of www.deedscanineconnection.com who saw the potential that Zora had. After several weeks of training both on search and rescue skills but also just general conditioning, Zora was accepted to join Texas A&M (whoop!) – Task Force One! She will still need to go through several more months of training with her new handler before being deployed, but we are thrilled that Bob did not give up on Zora and was able to give her the structure and training she needs!
