Atlas is a deaf, purebred, 2 month old male Border Collie who was surrendered by a breeder. The breeder wanted to make sure Atlas was placed in a home that was comfortable with deaf dogs, and reached out to the rescue specifically to enlist our help. So far, Atlas seems normal in every other way except for not being able to hear. He is a sweet, lovable puppy who likes playing with his foster parents and brothers and sisters. Atlas does have a little bit of a lazy eye but the vet said that should go away as he gets older. He is learning the basics of being a pup, including working on crate training and sleeping quietly through the night. (It does help when you can’t hear anything to wake you up!) Atlas can be adopted but we will be looking for a family who knows how to train and work with a deaf dog.
