Description
Ilsa, a 32 lb, approximately 1 year old female likely BC/ Aussie mix pup, was surrendered with Kolby to a local shelter. She probably spent her first several months in a kennel, as she has some behavioral quirks. She loves to play in the water and when she goes outside, she often gets into the washtub that her foster keeps there for outside drinking water and comes back inside drenched. She also plays in the water that is in her bucket in her crate and splashes it all over the crate and puts her toys in there. Ilsa also has some resource guarding issues with her food. Her current foster feeds her separately in her crate with a slow feeder and is careful to put food and treats up when other dogs are around. She also gets very carsick and is still working on her house and crate training. She can’t have bedding or soft toys because she shreds them all, but she does well with durable toys like Kongs and other very durable toys with food in them. Like her brother Kolby, Ilsa is a little soft-nerved and has a bit of anxiety and her foster is currently working with her on that.
On the good side, Ilsa gets along with most dogs. She and Skeeter are fostered together and love to play with each other. She loves to get pet and snuggled. She’s a moderately active dog who will do well in a family with another pup to play with as long as her food guarding cues are managed and improved. She’s got a gorgeous sable coat and overall, she’s a sweet little girl who is a little anxious and and who has a few quirks.
