Jimmy is a young Border Collie mix at about 1.5 years old. A solid 42 lbs., Jimmy was owner surrendered after being picked up by Animal Control for chasing chickens (again) and his prior owner didn’t want to pay the fine to get him out of the shelter. Jimmy is an active dog who loves to run and play with other dogs. He is very athletic – can leap a four foot fence with ease, but luckily, he jumps fences to go towards the things he wants – like his people. He LOVES being around his foster and older kids and is a little bit of a velcro dog right now. He enjoys the ball but needs to work on his endurance, and he’s not very food motivated yet but does want to please his people. He is smart as a whip, crating well and learning house rules very quickly. He does not have a lot of body awareness though, and for that reason, we would not recommend a household with small kids who could get knocked over. Still not sure about cats as he has shown interest but we’re waiting to see just how much chase he has in him now that he’s recovered from his recent neuter. Jimmy also likes to “talk” when he’s unhappy, baying for the world to hear, so probably not good for a household with thin walls.
