Lola is a 3 year old BC/ Aussie (?) mix female who was a stray picked up in Dallas. Lola was not doing well at the shelter at all – fearful, snappish, hard to handle, and the shelter reached out for assistance. BCSAVE immediately went to the shelter to assess Lola and found her to be extremely stressed. She engaged well with other dogs and our assessment was that Lola needed to decompress away from the shelter so we immediately began looking for a temporary foster to assist while we moved some dogs around through other fosters and adoptions. Once at her foster’s home, Lola almost instantly began to improve – she was happier and more relaxed. She still has some shyness and timidity around men though, but that is improving. In addition, Lola is heartworm positive and will begin her heartworm treatment. Interested adopters can still fill out an application and can foster through her heartworm treatment with the intent to adopt once treatment is over.
