Rosie is approximately 2 years old and 38 lbs, and has come a very long way in search of her forever home. She was originally spotted in Oklahoma, a stray running loose on the streets. It took some rescue angels over 30 days (!) to trap her and get her off the streets. When they were finally able to catch her, she was extremely skinny and the vet thought she might have been a bait dog who managed to escape as she has bites and scars all over her and her teeth had been filed down. Even with all that suffering, she didn’t have an ounce of mean in her. Her rescue angels said she didn’t try to bite or growl, but was so terrified that after they bathed her, she immediately went to a corner and curled up into a ball and did not move for a very long time.
It took Rosie a while, but eventually she began to learn to “dog”. She started hanging out with the other dogs, then eventually started playing with them, and developed a HUGE attachment to the little girl in the house who would dress her up, paint her nails, lay on her, and even tried to ride her once and Rosie just adored every minute of it. She has been fostered for over a year now, and in that time she has learned to sit, shake, what “bed” means (to go lay down in her bed”) and when it is time to eat.
Rosie is a dream dog now who is full of personality. When she play growls while playing she sounds like a cow mooing, and she has the most expressive ears. She absolutely LOVES belly rubs and always wants to be right by your side. She is house-trained, kid friendly and cat appropriate, warms up quickly to her person, has extremely good house manners, and is a lovebug of the highest magnitude. She is a mellow, calm dog who will be your best friend in whatever you do.
