Description
Skipper is a 10 month old boy who has had a rough start in life. A stray, he entered the shelter with non-contagious mange as well as a front leg that was fractured in two places. The shelter was full and medical cases are often the first to get euthanized when the shelter needs to make space. We took him in with the help of a wonderful foster.
Since then, he has been treated for the mange and went to the vet who said no surgery was needed at this time on his leg! we are keeping him on strict activity restriction for several more weeks just to give his leg time to heal up completely, and he may need surgery at some later point.
The healing leg doesn’t stop Skipper from being a sweet, lovable, active, friendly pup though! He’s got most of his fur back too and looks great! He loves to hang outside and chew on a bone, or frolic with his foster brothers. He is always happy and friendly, and is crate and house-trained. He will make a fine pup for an active family looking for a sweet guy to just “dog”.
