Description
Toby, originally known as Copper, came back into rescue after his original adoption in 2019. He was a little too much for his adoptive family, so they asked us to help find him a new home where he could be happy and live life to his fullest!
At around 45 lbs, Toby is all GO-GO-GO, all the time! He still bounces and hops around like a puppy, though he’s now around 4-5 yrs old. He’s great with dogs and kids and people, and wants nothing more to do than run and play and chase and run some more. He looks like he may have some malamute or husky in him, and he definitely TALKS like he does, vocalizing pleasure, frustration, or just because he wants to. He is friendly, fun, bouncy, snuggly, and is pretty confident in new situations and just an overall nice dog. He is house-trained and leash-trained.
What are his quirks? He can be stubborn and get hyper-focused on squirrels or other outdoor creatures. He is crate trained but sometimes does not want to go in his crate, and will show his displeasure with a raised lip. He still marks inside even though he’s been neutered, and digs outside when bored. We think a lot of this can be trained out/ worked out just by keeping him mentally and physically challenged and with proper motivation, but he definitely needs a lot of activity and structure. We’re still learning how much toy/ food drive he has.
He does great with people and kids and would love an active family who will make sure he’s got LOTS of things to do with his people or another pup!
